Deborah Gallant, business coach who gets the Internet

 

 

Deborah Gallant is the business coach who really gets the Internet. The founder of Bold Business Works:  Tools & Training for Fearless Entrepreneurs.  It encompasses both Deborah's coaching & consulting and the company originally known as Web Power Tools, a do-it-yourself website building system. She teaches workshops, teleclasses and seminars on Internet Marketing, networking and starting your own business. She was the guiding force and organizer of Day of Marketing, held at Columbia University in New York City in May 2008.

 
Deborah writes a quarterly column called Entrepreneur Coach in the industry magazine, Choice. She also founded Solo Entrepreneurs, a monthly networking/education group that meets in Thousand Oaks.
 

Before moving to California in 2002, Deborah was a New York City-based consultant to new business startups, ensuring that clients had a solid foundation for their business concepts: researching, strategizing, running financials, doing scenario analysis and financing strategies.

Deborah was an early Internet pioneer, starting up Journal Square Interactive (JSQ), a division of Advance Publications and then working for a startup (Familypoint) that was subsequently acquired by iVillage, the women's website.

In 2001, Berkley Books published Deborah's book Internet Jobs For the Rest of Us, a book about adapting job skills and knowledge to the Internet industry.

Her career began with a solid grounding in media and consumer marketing in radio, syndication, advertising, marketing and sales from five years in the radio business.

Deborah's double major M.B.A. is in Marketing and Management of Organizations from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, where she won the Amena Elliott Webster Marketing Award and was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma. Her B.A. is in American Studies from BrandeisUniversity. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Most recently, Deborah founded Conejo Jewish Job Support, a weekly program for those suffering from the economic downturn.  She volunteers with Women's Economic Ventures in Santa Barbara, CA. Deborah was awarded the Education Advocate of the Year award by the National Association of Women Business Owners in 2005. She is also an active member of JNet at Temple Beth Haverim in Agoura Hills and Jewish Business Leaders West.

Deborah is also an AFAA-certified fitness instructor. She volunteers at her daughter's school and other community organizations.
